Bevel The so called "Bevel"-structure features a 1 mm thick ceramic substrate with a 10° bevelled contact area of 4 mm width as the carrier of the printing line (array of microscopic heater elements). The resulting head structure enables you to work on media that is not intended to curve around standard roller platens (diameter < 20 mm). Typical examples are stickers with plastic- or metal coatings as well as stiff label materials on endless carriers (i.e. nameplates) and media with critical surface stability. The "Bevel"-structure of MITANI-TPHs allows very large platen radiuses in the printing area which, under ideal conditions, may converge toward infinity. This avoids the otherwise necessary mechanical load on the media. Structural changes of the media surface (i.e. microflaw, peal off etc.) are minimised or eliminated. Further, the reduced mechanical load minimises the wear on the TPH. |
