Sideface

MITANI´s unique "Sideface" printheads are members of the family of so called "True Edge"-heads with the printing-line (array of microscopic heater elements) located on the spheric stern of 3 mm thickness face of the ceramic substrate.

This Type of TPH operates at right angles to the printing surface facilitating real "flatbed" printing. Applications are direct and transfer printing on to cartons, packages, foils, plastic sheets (i.e. plastic cards) and other flat, stiff or hard materials and are ideally suited for ticketing in general.

Sideface-type TPH´s in thickfilm technology are increasingly used in ticket printers for toll both systems (highways, bridges etc.), public transport systems, automated public parking, stadium entrances, sporting events (e.g. ski-lift tickets), amusement parks, and many others. The heads have been extensively proven in such critical environments as all year outdoor conditions and polluted atmospheres (e.g. suspended particles of dust, soot, oil, fruit acids etc.) as well as in transfer printing applications where pigmented resins require high energy loads on the heating elements.
